Contribution of sugar industry in the Economy of Uttar Pradesh

Abstract

India is an agricultural country. The economy here is mainly based on agriculture. The country of India is divided into various regions and union territories so that the governance system remains strong. The sugar industry has a very large role in the economy and politics of Uttar Pradesh, the sugar mills of the state make an invaluable contribution to the revenue of Uttar Pradesh. About 28 districts of Uttar Pradesh are associated with sugar industry and various small scale industries related to it. Availability of raw materials required for sugar industry in these districts is abundant. Various government policies have been announced by the state and central governments from time to time for the development of sugar industry. After reviewing various government policies, there have been improvements in them.
