Abstract

The Governor General of Bengal Warren Hastings founded the Bengal Asiatic Society in 1784 AD. With the establishment, Sanskrit was made the language of Hindu majority states. Due to which many Sanskrit Colleges were established, which increased people's inclination towards Sanskrit. In 1857, scholars of all languages ??tried to connect the youth through leaflets to give impetus to the first freedom movement. In which Sanskrit scholars played a major role by making Kashi Nagi their area of ??work. The British imposed press censorship on the publication of all letters and newspapers. It was later canceled. In Sanskrit's scholarly scholar such as Dhr Ambikadatta Vyas, Sadasiva Moreshwar Bhide, Sridhar Pathak, Mahavir Prasad Dwivedi etc. contributed significantly in awakening the national consciousness through his works. Appasasti opposed the then government through articles. In this way, Sanskrit paper magazine played an important role in the development of nationalism and national consciousness.
