Abstract

Many radial distribution systems are part of rural electrification, leading to many faults and disturbance in the lines due to human caused effects or environmental effects. In this paper we consider a IEEE 14 bus distribution system with several loads and with two generators. Voltage analysis is carried out with respect to the distribution parameters of the buses and the line. The calculation of voltage pu parameters are carried out to obtain load flow indices for the IEEE 14 bus system with STATCOM and without STATCOM. The complete design and analysis is carried out in MATLAB software with comparison of voltage pu values with and without STATCOM in a table given in last section.
