Abstract
Like the theology, Kautilya has also described Varanashram as the basis of social organization. Kautilya considered the duty of the king to protect the Varnashram religion. The respected place of Brahmin in society was a privileged privilege of social, economic and law. The teachers, priests, Vedapathi Brahmins were given 'Brahmadee' land in the donation, which was tax free.
