In this study the investors’ (salaried class person ion higher education) preferences regarding various investment motives are analysed by using Garrett Ranking Analysis. Investment motives preferred by the investors are regular income, tax benefits, safe return of investments, emergency needs, liquidity, risk taking, status symbol, children education etc.
