Collaborative Workplaces: AI-Enhanced Human-Robot Interaction
Keywords:
Industrial Robots, Efficiency, Safety, Productivity, AI, HRI.Abstract
This article explores the potential applications of AI to improve HRI in the workplace, particularly in relation to its ability to foster collaboration between humans and machines. Beginning with a definition of HRI and an explanation of its critical role in modern workplaces, it stresses the need of cooperative effort in achieving efficiency, safety, and productivity. In what follows, we will look at how AI may enhance HRI system collaboration. Beyond exploring the role of AI, this article traces the evolution of HRI, from its inception with the first industrial robots to the state-of-the-art AI-powered systems of today. Critical to effective HRI are issues of design, usability, social intelligence, security, and adaptability. In this article, we also discuss the potential benefits and risks of HRI from a technical, ethical, and social perspective. This article explores the broader impact of AI on the workplace beyond HRI.
