Mohan Rakesh's plays have found expression in the problems of society and families as a result of age-old problems and modernity. In his plays, the depiction of the man-woman relationship, the survival crisis of the person, mental duality etc. have been made based on the historical and narrative of the middle class families of the society. His major plays 'Aashaad Ka Ek Din', 'Waves of Flamingo' and 'Adha Adhure' include various problems of contemporary life - the irony of family life, the situation arising out of male-female relationships, death perception, existential crisis, human relations. Accurate depiction of the middle hollowness and mental tension etc. has been made on the basis of modern references.
