Abstract

Environment is an integral part of human life, without which it is not possible to imagine human life. Just as non-functioning of any part of human causes unbearable pain, in the same way it will happen due to non-living of environment, that is why negligence in protecting the environment means inviting its destruction. We make great use of environmental resources in our daily life but do not think about safe consumption for it. Efforts are being made for two decades to develop social consciousness towards environmental protection, environment has helped scientists, nation builders and the world. has drawn his attention. Now the common man has also started thinking about the environment. Famine, drought, air, water, fuel shortage, chemical pollution, ultraviolet rays, global warming, destruction of natural resources, wildlife, threats to flora and fauna, etc. are the major problems that alert us. It is necessary to solve the problems of the environment, if these are not decided by us then it will not be livable for the future generations. The World Commission on Environment and Development in its report titled 'Our Joint Future' in 1987 stated that the concept of renewable development has to be adopted and that the needs of the present generation should be met without compromising on the needs of the future generation. All types of development activities are related to environmental degradation, we have to establish a balance in it. For the study of the present research paper, 8 schools in rural and urban areas run by the Uttar Pradesh government of Prayagraj district have been selected. For the present research paper, only the students of class 12 of higher secondary level have been included in the study. In the present research study, 240 students have been selected in which 120 boys and 120 girls are included. Self-made questionnaire has been used by the researcher to achieve the objectives of the present research study.
