Abstract

Mannu Bhandari and Shivani are important storytellers of the Nai Kahaani movement. The basis of the writings of both these storytellers is the discrepancies and ironies of women's life. It can be seen on the basis of the stories. was. The dreams that were dreamed during the freedom struggle have now come true. With the attainment of independence and the coming into force of the Constitution, India started breathing a new air. But all this could not last for long. Soon the values ??of life developed during the freedom struggle began to be destroyed, independence seemed false. The conflict between Indian democracy and the Indian nation state began to emerge. It was said that once independence is achieved, all the problems of the country will end. Everyone will get their right but in reality nothing like this happened. The result was that the voice has started coming from every section that freedom is false. Women writers started talking about the rights of women living a life of second class citizenship for thousands of years. The environmental portrayal in the stories of Mannu Bhandari and Shivani needs to be seen from this perspective.
