Abstract

The main reason for widespread unemployment is inadequate and low-quality skill training given to the youth. The workforce survey report highlights that only 7 percent of the youth have received skill training, either formally or informally. According to information received from recently released statistics, it is only 2.3 percent of India's total workforce. Receives formal skill training whereas the same figure is 68 percent in Britain, 75 percent in Germany, 52 percent in America, 80 percent in Japan and 96 percent in South Korea. On the other hand, according to a recently released survey report, 48 percent of Indian employers face difficulty in filling vacant vacancies because people lack the necessary skills and training.
